Ninoy Aquino International Airport originally named Manila International, Ninoy Aquino Airport was renamed in 1987 to honor assassinated Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. Its airport code honors the city it serves: MaNiLa. Located along the border between the cities of Pasay and Parañaque, about 7 kilometres south of Manila proper and southwest of Makati.
