North Platte Regional Airport is a public airport three miles east of North Platte, in Lincoln County, Nebraska. Built in 1921, North Platte was the first lighted airfield in the Unitd States. In 1941 it was renamed Lee Bird Field to honor a local pilot who was killed in training during World War I.
